Reframing "failure": One craft beer at a time
Could "mistakes" and "detours" actually be the path?
*Do you want $250 cash…just for helping transform someone’s life that you care about?! Check this out.
There are no mistakes.
Almost a decade ago, my incredible wife Alisa and I were exploring every nook and cranny of the magnificent South Island of New Zealand.
However, I had another agenda: to continue my ale-fueled adventures as “Marco Beero”…YOUR Beer Explorer.
Thus, Alisa, in a heroic display of support, accompanied me as my videographer (and designated driver) through a dozen+ breweries, brewpubs, and beer festivals as I sipped, chatted, and at times, chugged my way around the country.
Did I become a famous, globetrotting, beer-drinking host?
However, that “work” helped me get comfortable being in front of a camera (even in the middle of large crowds), and - just as with bartending - it helped me get comfortable speaking and interacting with all kinds of people, including complete strangers.
It was yet another integral part of my journey that brought me to where I am today…living free and inspiring people with my words.
I could look at it as a failure or waste of time, but it simply wasn’t. Nor does it matter that I rarely even drink beer anymore (when I do enjoy a tipple now, it’s typically gin or red wine).
It was a part of the master plan and also a really fun and enjoyable experience.
So…I now ask you…while something may feel like a “mistake” or a wrong turn…can you possibly reframe that thought and change your perspective into a more productive and joyful one?
It’s ALL guidance and wisdom that we only EARN through this experience we call life.
And I truly hope you’re enjoying your life…“mistakes” and all.
I’m currently focusing my energy on coaching and sharing messages like these in workshops, at conferences, and in front of audiences who desire to live with more peace and less stress. If you’re interested in working together, book a call …let’s see if it’s a great fit!
Mike’s quote of the week:
(On grief) “By allowing the intense emotions to flow, the sadness transforms into joy and the grief seems to be facilitating the transmutation of one relationship into a beautiful, new relationship. - MM
What I’m pondering:
If there are no mistakes in life or this universe, couldn’t the journey be SO MUCH MORE enjoyable?!
Things I’ve shared recently:
“Good” Grief? This is what I’ve learned in the past month since we lost Rocky (this post has received 2,000+ likes on Facebook and hundreds of comments and shares…I hope the message resonates with you as well)
